Weather Bonus

Several days of above average temperatures has been very beneficial in moving the porch project along.  Dan started working on the half column so we would have an exact measurement before ordering the railing for the deck.  The column got a few coats of paint.  Unfortunately, the pigeon poop didn't get power washed off the brick.  That may have to be done in March or April. Dan also put the trim around the doors and I gave the doors their third coat of paint. Dan also got the band board on the edge of the decking. Thanks to good weather, we were able to paint the trim.  I got busy and forgot to document all this as it was happening.  Can you believe it's January and we keep having above normal temperatures? That is certainly working in our favor or much of this would have to been put on hold for a couple months. Hang On

All attention lately has been on the closet addition and this post fits that category as well.  It should probably come when the project is complete but, who knows when that will be so, I'm posting it now. My niece is good at scouting out gifts that suit the receiver and fit that person's taste.  According to her, this one fell into her lap. One of the hats she wears is "rehabber" and one day in early December she was having a closet painted on one of her projects.  When she arrived to check on the job she saw my Christmas present scattered on the floor.  What luck!  She scooped them up and added a personal touch before she presented them to me. Those vintage wooden hangers are now patiently waiting for the rod they will hang on to be installed. Some of them even reveal their origin.   Stephanie personalized them with an appropriate quote tied to each hanger. I'm planning to display those quotes in my new closet as I think they are delightful
