Several times throughout this project I wished I had passed on this purchase. Not that I don't love the style but....it all began in a dimly lit cluttered house. I saw these and although they were over priced (in my opinion) and I did get them for less than the asking price, I probably still paid too much. The owner assured me that a little buffing would bring the chrome back to new. WRONG! When I got them home I realized they were too worn in spots and chipped in others. I was not deterred. I would JUST have them rechromed. I had no idea what that costs, but I do now! Let me just say, it was not an option. Although they don't look too bad in this shot, you can see that springs are high in some spots and low in others. I explored the options for the frame and finally decided to have them sandblasted to remove all the chrome.
