I will start with the ABC Challenge as I just finished one of those today. But let's begin with the letter I.
.This is pretty self explanatory. All the colors begin with consonant blends as do the objects. With all the colors named I certainly fulfilled my constant for the carry forward. The tabs are the other carry forward from the last card.
The prompt for #18 is Junk.
This one needs some explaining. The focal point is a copy of a piece of art by Thomas Deininger. He creates sculptures and installations from discarded materials. His work is known for its anamorphic style, where the subject appears clear from a straight-on view, but becomes abstract from other angles.
The background for this card is a page from a magazine that has been folded and squeezed to create wrinkles and break down the fibers in the paper. A bit of olive oil on the finger tips facilitates the process. The paper becomes very soft and depending on the colors and definition on the page, the result can be very muted and almost unrecognizable. Other times colors and outlines of the objects on the page retain their look but are slightly distorted and softened. I am looking forward to making more of these background papers.
I used various plastics for my junk to represent the non-recyclable materials he uses in his pieces.
The tube at the bottom contains a scroll with more information about the artist.
My constant is the name for a color and this one is tangerine. My carry forward is the brad.
Weave is the prompt for #18. I had just watched a couple YouTube videos on paper weaving so I gave it a go.
Obviously, Bronze is my color word and the hanging tab is my carry forward.
Paper Doll was a fun prompt for this week of the challenge.
Once again I borrowed from some old patterns to create this card. Blonde is my constant and the eyelets are my carry forward. That is a wrap until I get caught up on the new challenges.
